Sending their fastest riders to deliver messages to their list of plausible war targets, Defiant Marauders (16:1) awaited the response of a possible war. They received a reply from USELESS REVERSI (10:22) stating their kingdom would consider the war and get back to them with a response. Noting their paper light up with some hits from Reversi, Marauders took the actions as an indication of an on coming war, responding with non-trad hits (learns, massacres, plunders, and even some razes). Reversi refrained from trads as well, making use of plunders, learns and massacres until Marauders declared war on May 15th, YR6.

May 15th, YR6 We have declared WAR on USELESS REVERSI (10:22)!

As soon as war hit, Marauders armored themselves with Guard Stations and hit for max gains. With land being the primary goal of war, Reversi also barred off with a max gains strategy. Activity even and all pistols loaded, war became a slug fest. Gains wavered in the favor of Marauders, whom steadily raked in more and more with each passing wave. Shortly after minimum time, Reversi realized the fight was not in their favor, and withdrew from the war.

January 21st, YR7 U R at WAR (10:22) has withdrawn from war. Our people rejoice at our victory!

Reviewing the list of possible war targets, Fruits of War (5:20) began exchanging hits with The Fallens (11:20) during March of YR6. Trading a mix of learns, massacres and trads, the hostile started at a slower pace, lasting nearly two days. Through April of YR6, Fruits recieved a semi-wave from ENIGMA (9:36). With interest leaning on The Fallens, Fruits offered Enigma a CF, and left their hits unretalled. Midway through May, war kicked off when The Fallens saw fit to declare.

May 13, YR6 - Relations: War began with The Fallens (11:20)

As soon as they noticed war had started, Fruits began a Ruby Dragon and started chaining. Targetting 3 provinces with NS at a time and two targets to trad-chain, Fruits aimed at hindering enemy threats as fast as possible, while spreading damage so as not to suffer from the penalties of extreme gb protection.

The Fallens took to a heavier chaining strategy, attempting to completely remove targets from the conflict. Carrying the mix of trads and massacres, used in hostile, The Fallens layed some heavy damage on a couple select provinces in Fruits. Recieving the Dragon from Fruits and realizing the heavy damage did not remove enemy targets from war, The Fallens switched to heavy gains.

Meanwhile, Fruits continued their semi-chains and the NS spread against specified targets, taking a strong lead in gains while maintaining a higher activity. Obtaining a dragon of their own, Fruits wasted no time working it down, slaying the beast in a short 4 hours. Throwing in a couple massacres to weaken some provinces, Fruits began making multi-taps and it wasn't much after minimum time that The Fallens withdrew.

July 15, YR6 - Relations: War ended as The Fallens (11:20) withdraws. Our
people rejoice at our victory.

looplab of Fruits of War comments:
First, I'd like to remark on the fair play from 11:20, they're a good kingdom and we enjoyed the war. I'd also like to thank my kdmates for the great effort they put into the war. We are regaining a decent activity level and possibly we'll be back to topcharts soon. Some of us have been playing together for around 7 real years, so the core of this kingdom is strong, and our performance only improve so the core of this kingdom is strong, and our performance only improves with active new players joining every age. We'll be warring again in a few days, watch out!!

Unsure how the holiday season would affect their kingdoms ability to war, Mortal Team Work MTW (19:1) polled their kingdom's activity to gauge their ability to war. Deciding to engage in conflict with a net of 13 provinces, MTW searched for a fair war target that they may be able to match given their holiday activity. Searching for targets, MTW stumbled upon War Dogs (8:3) and studied their set-up. War Dogs largest provinces appeared to be pure T/M provinces, and the larger attackers were in range of MTW's larger, but MTW felt they outnumbered the lower range of War Dogs Kingdom and gauged them for a war. In July of YR5, MTW began their assault on War Dogs with a mix of some trads, learns and massacres. As the month remained silent and a new month began, War Dogs gave their late response with a couple retals.

MTW taunted their enemy with a message "Come on. Let's war already. " and received a positive response with terms for war to be underway.
1) No Province Killing.
2) No Dragons
3) 72 hour war. Winner is determined by acre gain according to kd summary +/-10%

Bartering for a longer war duration, the terms were set at with an above edit of 96 hours and MTW continued massacres to weaken War Dogs superior T/M capability. Nearing day four of the initial hostile, war had finally started.

March 17, YR6 - Relations: War began with War Dogs (8:3).

MTW immediately switched to traditional marches and tried hard for any multi-hits they could get; including one trad with one cq. War Dogs aimed for the war goal, and max gained their efforts in war, with one or two provs occasionally sending razes and tried heavily to hinder MTW's monarch. MTW, however, semi-chained with a few max gain hits, using T/M capabilities to hinder the regrowth of enemy armies.

"War Dogs proved true to be quite honorable, humble and friendly," says MTW's monarch. "A good way to end any war." Through superior activity, and following their planned strategy, MTW obtained their win, after only 64 hours of war.

June 9, YR6 - Relations: War ended as War Dogs (8:3) withdraws. Our people rejoice at our victory.

Note:
The papers given were in pimp format, so I currently don't have a full formatted summary to display, even though daily war based summaries were provided. I also have not yet received comments from either kingdom. If they would like to add comments or more information, I'll update accordingly Thanks.

Fishing for war, The Muppets (12:25) sent their servants to many fellow kingdoms, baring an offer in the interest of conflict. G H E T T O (20:39) responded with a positive offer of war, unfortunately Muppets had already been attacked by a different kingdom. Muppets quickly hit hostile with Fruits of War (5:20), whom bowed out of conflict before engaging in war.

Muppets turned their attention back to G H E T T O, asking if they were still interested in war. With yet another positive reply, an extended three day hostile ensued with the Muppets attempting to close the nw gap between kingdoms before declaring war on January 12th, YR6.

January 12th, YR6 We have declared WAR on G H E T T O HOSTILE (20:39)!

Upon declaration, Muppets sent a dragon while starting another for later use. Employing a mixed tactic of max gaining and minor chaining, Muppets aimed to split G H E T T O's provinces into two groups, letting the larger half of their kingdom grow, while trying to abolish the lower half. G H E T T O, used a similar tactic, spreading hits between for the most part, but placing 5-6 hits on a couple provs throughout the war. On February 17th, YR6 G H E T T O sent a ruby dragon and started another which would not see flight. Muppets killed their dragon less than 24 hours later on March 16th, YR6.

As the war progressed, Muppets plan appeared to be working well. They soon started multi-taps against provs in G H E T T O and started razing acres off, killing defense and hurting the enemy economy. Unable to let war continue any longer, G H E T T O withdrew.

May 20th, YR6 G H E T T O HOSTILE (20:39) has withdrawn from war. Our people rejoice at our victory!

Hard pressed in the search for war, schadenfreude (20:14) took a CE of HARDOR (8:13) and decided to spark them for a war. Throughout the month of April, YR5, schadenfreude mixed massacres and learns while hoping to hear talk of war from HARDOR. Receiving only a few learns and massacres in return, schadenfreude continued their actions into May of YR5 without word from HARDOR. On May 15th, however, HARDOR gave their final response with a certificate, declaring an official state of war upon schadenfreude.

May 15th, YR5 HARDOR (8:13) has declared WAR with our kingdom!

HARDOR opened the war up, placing their first 13 hits on John the Pornstar (20:14). schadenfreude, wanting to make full use of their hybrid set-up, continued their pre-war massacres and started a Ruby Dragon.

Throughout the war, HARDOR's heaviest thief and mage provs managed to get 15-20 hour riots on some of the best thieves and mages in schadenfreude and proved to be problematic. In attempt to counter these amped provinces, schadenfreude had their rogues AW the heavy mage prov and their mystics continuously MS the heavy thief prov grieving them.

When their armies returned home, schadenfreude believed their massacres had been effective enough and began a semi-chaining tactic while funding HARDOR's very own pet, which was to survive the remainder of the war. Beyond their initial heavy chain, HARDOR began semi-chaining, covering more targets with slightly less hits than the chains of schadenfreude. These strategies continued nearing minimum time, where schadenfreude began max gaining and using propoganda. A few hours after minimum time, HARDOR withdrew.

July 19th, YR5 HARDOR at WAR (8:13) has withdrawn from war. Our people rejoice at our victory!

schadenfreude' leadership comments:
thanks, HARDOR, for a fun war ! much <3 to the SF crew who were there to take orders and execute in the best way possible , as always.

After having finished a week long Fake War, Xiphos TF (13:4) decided to have a quiet period over the holiday season with the aim of growing, before starting to look for war again in new year. With this in mind, Xiphos waved Dokkalfar (10:5) with 21 hits for a total of 3,790 acres over the month of June Y5. Dokkalfar sent Xiphos the ceasefire that they were expecting. Rather than accepting it immediately, the decision had been made to keep hitting and keep those acres rolling in.

However, as is always mostly the case within the game, there was a kingdom out there with a completely different idea in mind. Evil Dragons (1:32) had started to gather intel on Xiphos and followed this with a 14 hit wave in July Y5. Xiphos immediatly accepted the CF from Dokkalfar (10:5) and started a Dragon with the cash reserves they had had left over from their FW and waited for the rest of their armies to return before hitting Evil Dragons 4 times and pushing the button:

July 15th, YR5 We have declared WAR on Evil Dragons (1:32)!

With war declared both kingdoms followed a similar strategy of semi chaining provinces. Xiphos opted to hit provinces 4-6 times each with the idea of trying to create unbreakable provinces in the kingdom. The advantage that Evil Dragons had was that they had a huge bank that was able to hit the provinces in Xiphos. But as long as Xiphos were able to contain the rest of the the attackers in Evil Dragons it made things for them slightly easier. Although, the strat of both kingdoms was similar, Evil Dragons opted to hit provinces slightly more in order to try and damage them but were also restricted by the fact that Xiphos were able to create unbreakable. This invariably meant that they had no choice but to target those provinces that were more open and try and keep things ticking over.

Maybe it was the festive spirit or simply festive madness but Xiphos went beyond the call of duty with their dragons. Having gathered stockpiles of gcs during their fake war, it appeared that the provinces got excited about the prospect of having so much cash and sending a dragon that resulted in Xiphos wasting 2 dragons by sending 3 dragons over a three hour period without ED having even started slaying the 1st:

Jul 15 YR5: Dragon Sent to: (1:32)
Jul 16 YR5: Ruby Dragon begun Target: (1:32)
Jul 16 YR5: Dragon Sent to: (1:32)
Jul 16 YR5: Ruby Dragon begun Target: (1:32)
Jul 17 YR5: Dragon Sent to: (1:32)

Thankfully for Xiphos, they had enough spare cash and people kept their heads, to send a 4th dragon later in the war after Evil Dragons had slain the one they had ravaging their lands. Given the time of year, as would be expected for the vast majority of the kingdoms inhabiting the server, activity on both sides was a lot lower than usual.

With an appearing abundance of money and the continued pressure of the dragons being sent with rampant glroy Evil Dragons, started to loose ground. However, the turning point which most likely decided the fate of the war, was Evil Dragons bank; which had slain the third dragon had presented itself as a breakable target to the largest attackers in Xiphos. After some concentrated nightstriking the bank was opened up with a big hit arriving:

Mar 23 YR6: Xx Claymore xX (13:4) attacked WeWereTwoKidsInlove (1:32) for: 475 acres.

This would have created alarm and rather than risking the situation too much long, Evil Dragons got the last of the armies out to hit for max gains before hitting the withdraw button, awarding the win to Xiphos:

April 6th, YR6 Evil Dragons (1:32) has withdrawn from war. Our people rejoice at our victory!

Hostile Summary from Xiphos:

** Summary from (13:4) **
Total Attacks Made: 4 (820 acres)
-- Traditional March: 4 (820 acres)
Total Attacks Suffered: 14 (3,005 acres)
-- Traditional March: 14 (3,005 acres)

War Summary from Xiphos:

** Summary from (13:4) **
Total Attacks Made: 139 (21,305 acres)
-- Traditional March: 137 (21,305 acres)
-- Failed Attacks: 2 (1.4% failure)

-- Traditional March: 120 (16,702 acres)
-- Ambush: 1 (86 acres)
-- Failed Attacks: 3 (2.4% failure)
Aid packets sent: 95

Sharu, monarch of Xiphos, commented:

Thanks to ED for the many christmas gifts they donated to our kingdom. I'd like to thank all Xiphos players for their activity during the holiday season and their very generous spirit in the Dragon Fund department. P.S.: Outside of Christmas we'll try sticking with sending them 1 at a time.

Evil Dragons declined to comment along with giving any information.

It was Jan YR3, Randomers (12:27) were looking for their second war under the tag of "Lameboat". The first few kingdoms they waved immediately offered ceasefires before Unknown (11:23) retalling the plunders that Randomers had sent their way. The kingdom set ups made for an immediately interesting conflict with the Elf warriors of Randomers pitted against the Dwarf Rogues of 11:23. As hits were traded over the months of January and February war was finally declared as the end of February loomed:

February 21st, YR3 Unknown (11:23) has declared WAR with our kingdom!

Upon war declaration, (11:23) had 18 provinces online, which were organised to send massacres against the elf provinces with the highest tpa/wpa. Hits were rotated with 5 hits being sent against the same province before another target received the same treatment. Upon the declaration 11:23 also sent their dragon:

February 21st, YR3 A Gold Dragon from Unknown (11:23) has begun ravaging our lands!

With the dragon sent and hits incoming, Randomers contacted their players to get online. Once people were on, massacres were sent against those provinces in 11:23 that had the highest tpa whilst also getting their fluffy off the ground and sent over. It was also within this same hour that Randomers managed to kill off the dragon sent by 11:23.

February 21st, YR3 A Ruby Dragon has set flight to ravage Unknown (11:23)!

February 22nd, YR3 Dunhill (12:27) has slain the dragon ravaging our lands!

The start of the war was a flurry of attacks, dragon slaying and dragon flight as 11:23 were able to kill the dragon within two hours of receiving it. However, having sent their first dragon, Randomers had also immediately started funding another dragon. Once their first dragon had been slayed by 11:23, Randomers immediately send another:

March 1st, YR3 A Ruby Dragon has set flight to ravage Unknown (11:23)!

After the initial hits Randomers used those provinces with their armies still at home to trad march a select few provinces in 11:23, who in turn continued to massacre meaning that the elves in 12:27 became fat very quickly as the massacres took affect. The combination of incoming land and massacres on the provinces in Randomers meant that 11:23 were able to focus on NS and MS/Greed runs on the elfs that had hit for land.

The one advantage that Randomers had from the beginning of the war was the use of their gnome bank, which was used to slay the first & second dragon. The bank rather than risking opening itself up, was used to complete chains and to aid the provinces being hit the hardest. Despite the use of Quick feet that elves had, the fog of the dwarves helped to counteract this advantage, meaning that attack times for both kingdoms were very similar. 11:23 continued to massacre and also got their second dragon off the ground with Randomers adopting a mixture of both massacres and chains against those provinces easiest to hit.

April 5th, YR3 A Ruby Dragon from Unknown (11:23) has begun ravaging our lands!

April 13th, YR3 Dunhill (12:27) has slain the dragon ravaging our lands!

War continued with heavy massacres from both sides, with a mix of trad marches by the chained dwarves in 11:23 and razes by the big elves in Randomers. Realising that many of their players are land fat with weakening thievery/ magic capability, Randomers switched back to massacres, while ordering their biggies to pump defense to outgrow any lingering threats to them, as they were the ones that had also sacrificed their def specs to help kill of the dragons. It was also at this stage, Randomers got their third dragon sent:

July 22nd, YR3 Randomers's Ruby Dragon has set flight to ravage Unknown (11:23)!

The ability to kill and send dragons effectively due to the gnome bank, combined with the fact that eight provinces were able to pump enough defense to outgrow the attackers of 11:23 meant that Randomers were able to put increased pressure and number of massacres on those dwarves with high tpa. It was a battle of Randomers ability to massacre the dwarves effectively against the NS runs that the dwarves were still able to do against their attackers. This translated itself into a basic form of protection as the NS was able to whittle down the offence and defence, meaning that Randomers were forced to send out less that they wished, with pressure high on those provinces massacred the most from NS. With the falling nw/acre ratio of the massacred and NSd provinces, Randomers decided to have their large province intra raze those that had been hit the hardest. The initiative pulled off with several provinces intra-razed down to below 400aces, enabling the kingdom to surpass 11:23 in Network/acre ratio. Soon, it became clear that 11:23 were more land fat, with the networth of the kingdoms widening each day. Roughly 12 days into the war, 11:23 changed to max gains and chains against the most heavily massacred elves in Randomers, killing a province.

July 24th, YR4 Alas, the once proud province of Coolest Job on Earth (12:27) has collapsed and lies in ruins.

With this initial success the attacks were continued against those targets but as the networth of 11:23 continued to drop they withdrew after 14 days of war.

February 20th, YR5 Unknown (11:23) has withdrawn from war. Our people rejoice at our victory!

War Summary from Randomers:

Total Attacks Made: 408 (7,937 acres)

-- Massacres: 217 (160,348 people)
-- Plunder Attacks: 1
-- Failed Attacks: 17 (3.9% failure)

Randomers' Co-Monarch, Thor commented:

We would like to thank 11:23 for their interest in taking up the war and we certainly learnt a lot from this war. Also, thanks to the players for their full dedication and committment to this long war.

11:23 chose to comment:

14 days in war is too long just to get a war win. The more stubborn KD won.
